When I learned of Anne's death, I was so shocked. We were too young to die. It made me feel very vulnerable and concerned for our generation. Would any of us survive the madness of the Sixties, which lasted through at least the mid Seventies as Saigon fell.

Dear UES Anne with an E. It always was a mystery to this new first grade reader who puzzled over why she and Ann Cavin, and later, Ann Lumry spelled their names differently.

Anne was one of the nicest people at U-High.  Very shy but accepting of people.  My first year at U-High in 8th grade she helped me with adjusting to the school.  She encouraged me to play sports and stay on top of my studies.  I can't thank her enough for that and will always remember that special encouragement.  TTFN

Anne and I were very good friends at UES, spending time at each other's houses, and just playing like little girls do.  Her family went away for a year, I can't remember exactly where or when, but assume it had to do with her Dad's sabbatical or something academic.  When she came back we had kind of grown apart, and our relationship never returned to where it had been.  I remember her parents, and the joy when her younger sister Amy was born.  I am sorry that I lost touch with her as the years went on, and like so many of us, was shocked at her passing. She was a sweet and tender soul, and I am so sorry that she left so soon.
